MyCV Abstract

Starting his career in the fledging electronics industry of the 1980s, Malcolm has over 29 years business experience in high technology industries, and has held a number of executive roles with international firms, both private and publicly-listed.

Prior to founding his first company, Agitavi Research in 2002, Malcolm headed up Cap Gemini Ernst & Young’s mobility practice for Asia Pacific, and was part of their global mobility centre of excellence based in Sweden.

Malcolm now hold a number of advisory roles and inverstments in software foucsed organisaitons and is currently the ceo for the The International Institute for Software Economics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Inc (IISEIE), a non-profit organisaiton focused on building success local software economies around the world...more.

Malcolm holds an MBA from Southern Cross University in Australia, and is currently completing his PhD thesis on Local Software Economies and ICT Industrial Cluster Growth...more.

    Malcolm has personally delivered strategic workshops for software companies in over 25 countries in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and the Americas, including:

    United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Croatia, Singapore, India, China, Korea, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Tunisia, Kuwait, Brazil

    Software:
    Malcolm has developed specific skills around application development and delivery, with an emphasis on the interaction between sales teams and the technical teams responsible for the development of a solution. He is a Microsoft-trained enterprise architect, and is also trained in the Microsoft Solution Framework for application development.

    It is with this expertise he established the solution development processes for Advantage Group (Asia Pacific) in 1999/2000 and was also responsible for the design and implementation of the Advanced Development Centre in Asia Pacific for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young during 2001/2002.

    Other significant career highlights include a number of on-line projects, e.g. a major Internet retailer in the food and beverages industry, a ‘virtual’ spectator system for the America’s Cup event, and global supply/logistics systems for an industrial controls organisation.

    Mobility:
    As senior management at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Malcolm established the Nokia OK application testing facility at the Asia Pacific Advanced Delivery Centre, and together with the Cap Gemini global mobility team, was also responsible for defining much of the thinking around enterprise applications and solutions in the mobility arena.

    He was also responsible for defining and deploying a number of mobility projects including sales force automation and field service solutions, as well as developing go-to-market strategy around enterprise mobility for such organisations as Vodafone and Nokia.
